Hearing ManualWe are pleased to announce the release of our 6th consumer eGuide,"Your Guide to Care and Maintenance of Hearing Aids,"authored by Drs. Ron Schow and Jeff Brockett. Ron SchowRon Schow is Professor of Audiology at Idaho State University (ISU), where he has taught since 1975.  In 1974, he earned his PhD at Northwestern University, where he completed a dissertation under the direction of Dr. Raymond Carhart. Ron is co-editor of a popular text called,Introduction to Audiologic Rehabilitation, now in its 5th Edition (Schow & Nerbonne, 2007, Allyn and Bacon).  He helped develop SAC and SOAC, which are used as outcome measures for hearing aid fitting, and he was a co-developer of Multiple Auditory Processing Assessment (MAPA), a new battery of tests for measuring Auditory Processing Disorders (APD).  This test is now available through Auditec of St. Louis (2007).  See www.isu.edu/csed to learn more about these audiology resources and his work in the Audiology Division at ISU.

Jeff BrockettJeff Brockett is currently an associate professor and audiology program director at Idaho State University.  He earned his Masters Degree in Audiology, an Education Specialist Degree in Special Education, and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership: Instructional Design from ISU.  His clinical and research interests include acoustic amplification technology, wide-band reflectance, and working with patients who have dizziness and balance problems.
