New Jersey Audiology and Hearing Aid Centers, Inc. (NJA), is a well established, family owned and operated private practice. This full service audiology practice includes diagnostic hearing testing, tinnitus evaluations and tinnitus treatments, dizzi-ness, vertigo and balance testing, and hearing aid dispensing. Our two centers are conveniently located in Ocean County at 85 Nautilus Drive in Ma­nahawkin, NJ and 500 Lakehurst Road in Toms River, NJ. Both offices are situated just 5 minutes from Parkway EXIT 81 or EXIT 63.

 

A. Michael Salzer

A. Michael Salzer, Au.D., CCC-A is the founder and CEO of New Jersey Audiology & Hearing Aid Centers, Inc.  He is certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.  Born and raised in South Plainfield, New Jersey, Dr. Salzer spent every summer with his family in Long Beach Island where his grandmother settled in 1961.  Dr. Salzer went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication sciences and disorders in 1995 and a Masters degree in audiology in 1997 from The University of Florida.  He completed an externship at Georgetown University Medical Center in 1997 and in 2009 earned a clinical doctor of audiology degree from The Arizona School of Health Sciences. With the Jersey Shore being a significant part of his upbringing,  Dr. Salzer and his wife settled in Ocean County after marrying in 1999.  Dr. Salzer and his wife’s beliefs in individual and quality patient care was the driving force behind their leaving the mainstream clinics and hospitals and opening their family owned and operated practice. 

 

Being raised in a family of business owners, Dr. Salzer has established this practice based on traditional business values and combines his expertise with cutting edge technology.  Dr. Salzer’s dedication to the profession of audiology, the patients served, staff at NJA, and the company as a whole, are the key variables behind the success of this practice.

DeAnne D. SalzerDeAnne D. Salzer, M.S., CCC-SLP is the co-owner and vice president of New Jersey Audiology & Hearing Aid Centers, Inc (NJA) as well as the founder and CEO of NJA’s sister company, Children’s Speech & Language Discovery Center.  DeAnne is a New Jersey licensed and ASHA certified speech language pathologist and board certified assistant behavior analyst.  She is head of human resources and recruitment for NJA.  Her business experience and dual expertise lend to the executive decisions made for these companies.  Her philosophy and principles regarding the highest patient care, work ethic, and employee moral are significant to NJA’s overall success.  Together DeAnne and Dr. Salzer continue to provide their companies and staff with the optimal continuing education, training, and technology in order to provide premier care to the patients they serve.

 

For Children’s Speech & Language Discovery Center, DeAnne has developed, implemented, and guided ABA programs, which emphasize B.F. Skinner’s Analysis of Verbal Behavior, on a consultative basis in schools districts and individually in her private practice for the past 8 years.  Her consultative services include training teachers and staff working in special education and autism classrooms, as well as educating administrators, general education teachers, and therapists. She has consulted in school districts in Ireland and the U.S. including NJ, NY, MA, and PA.  DeAnne creates manuals and workshops that are presented to organizations, school districts, early intervention programs, and universities. DeAnne has written 7 articles for Your Child Today Magazine to educate parents and related professionals on communication deficits and therapeutic services.

Jaclyn ScagnelliJaclyn Scagnelli, our newest Audiologist, joined NJ Audiology in June 2010. She recently moved to Lacey Township from Queens, NY. Jaclyn graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York with a B.A. in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. She recently graduated from the City University of New York and obtained her Doctorate of Audiology in May 2011. She has interned at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and a private Ear, Nose and Throat practice in New York City. Jaclyn's primary interests are in diagnostic testing, hearing aid dispensing, and vestibular assessment and treatment. Jaclyn's dissertation  was titled "Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions in Adult Smokers and Non-Smokers with Normal Hearing." The goal of her dissertation was to attempt to find a precursor to hearing loss as this could potentially lead to a possible prevention or delay of hearing impairment. On her spare time she enjoys traveling, dancing, boating, and hiking. Jaclyn has found a home here in New Jersey and plans to continue helping those living with hearing and balance disorders.
